Program
Duration: 9 weeks, June 23 to August 21, including
(1) One-week intensive seminar at Hunter, (2) 3-week teaching practicum
at Hunter, (3) 4-week online instruction at home with a 5-hour per week
one-on-one conversational student-teaching session at Hunter, and (4)
one-week assessment and sharing at Hunter.

Application
Deadline:
Space is limited. Applications will be reviewed on rolling basis. It will
take up to 3 weeks to process each application.

Eligibility:
**The program accepts applicants who are undergraduate or graduate students,
as well as teaching professionals in American institutions.
**All applicants must demonstrate language proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
and English at the advanced-low level or above.
**Applicants must have U.S. citizenship or be permanent residents of the
United States, or in the process of obtaining permanent residency.

Awards:
Students who complete the program with satisfactory performance will be
awarded stipends, up to 50% of the tuition.

College
Credits and Tuition:
Qualified candidates can choose to enroll for 9 undergraduate credits
or 5 graduate credits.
**The program activities are designed as a comprehensive learning unit.
To earn credits, you must enroll in the program from the beginning to
the end. You cannot attend part of the program or leave in the middle
of the program and receive any credit.
**If you are a Hunter student at the undergraduate level, you can use
credits you earn through this program toward your Chinese major.
**If you intend to earn graduate level credits, you must first obtain
admission to the M.A. in Teaching Chinese program.
**Once admitted, you are responsible for following Hunter College¡¯s regulations
and procedures regarding paying tuition, adding or dropping courses, receiving
refunds, etc. See information in Hunter College Website: www.hunter.cuny.edu.
**There is no cost to participate in the program if you do not need college
credits.

Commitment
Deposit:
After you have been accepted, please write a check ($200) within two weeks
payable to Hunter College. The money will be returned to you on the last
day of the program. If we do not receive your deposit within two weeks,
your acceptance will be revoked and your application will not be reconsidered.
